Position Summary:
Process Engineer to support the operations and maintenance of the facility, by leading projects to support the continuous improvements and capital projects of the site. This position will work in collaboration with the corporate Senior Process Safety Engineer.
The Process & Process Safety Management Engineer will ensure the Port Edwards plant follows process safety management (PSM) practices as defined by the following:

• United States Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) – Process Safety Management (CFR.1910.119)

 • United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – Risk Management Program (EPA)

 • Responsible Care Codes of Practice – as specified by the American Chemical Council (ACC)

 • Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) – a division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)

Duties and Responsibilities Include:  


Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance

  • Coordinate the overall plant Process Safety Management (PSM) program in conjunction with Corporate Sr Process Safety Engineer.
  • Maintain, update, and implement plant PSM procedures.
  • Maintain and coordinate the process safety information for the plant.
  • Identify and ensure compliance with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEP), which are related to process safety.

Coordinate the revalidation of plant PHAs

  • Facilitate PHAs for plant changes when required and PHA revalidations; including new processes (PSSERs) and revalidation PHAs
  • Assist with the review of proposed plant changes and provide guidance on when to conduct PHAs for plant changes.

Participate in investigations of process safety incidents

  • Lead the facility in PSM audits at the plant.
  • Coordinate the plant’s consequence risk assessment for worst-case and alternative release scenarios.

Lead Plant Operations and Maintenance Projects

  • Manage and support projects that assist the plant with process and continuous improvements.
  • Support day-to-day operational issues to ensure process is functioning optimally.


  • Communicates with other plant work groups, customers, suppliers and contractors to obtain best practices and experience input to process improvements or project scopes
  • Represents the plant in company-wide teams/programs, as required
  • Develops and delivers training to plant employees on process improvements/modifications
  • On-call supervisor as defined by the handbook and rotation schedule.



Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in Chemical products manufacturing
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-solving capabilities; experience with FMEA methodology and PHA methodology in a complex manufacturing process
  • Project Management and Process Flow development experience
