Sr. Process Engineer (Competitive compensation/benefits/tuition reimbursement/relocation offering)

The Sr. Process Engineer position is at our Lake Charles Chemical Plant within our Pool division and is responsible for promoting process and facility improvements by analyzing and recommending solutions for process upsets and/or improvements to achieve production, safety, and environmental goals.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead development and implementation of new processes, equipment, and the configurations to support growth objectives.
• Provide technical knowledge in analyzing process data to identify root causes of manufacturing inefficiencies, deliver troubleshooting, and implement appropriate countermeasures to improve quality, performance, productivity, and sustainability solutions.
• Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
• Work with internal and external suppliers of materials, equipment, and services to execute projects, resolve problems and improve processes.
• Ensure a safe working environment and help assess and minimize risks to the company in all areas such as health, safety, environment, quality, ethics, and customer service.
• Identify required preventative maintenance items (PMs) to ensure optimum process reliability is achieved the production object.
• Prepare reports with improvement recommendations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
• Maintain documentation (e.g., work instructions) and records required for changes or improvements, such as management of change and pre-production process.
• Develop SOP and work instructions for the processes, as needed, to support safe and reliable manufacturing practices
• Participate in Hazard Reviews process.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree
• 5+ years experience in continuous improvement manufacturing
• Process control experience is a plus (Delta V)
• Experience in lean manufacturing practices, such as six sigma (green belt or equivalent preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to work with data to generate periodic reports as needed.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High level of initiative, innovation, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines accordingly.
• Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy & organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree
• 5+ years in continuous improvement manufacturing experience
