Job Overview:
AdvanSix is seeking an Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer, at the Frankford Plant, in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. In this role, the E/I Engineer will be responsible for initial scoping, planning, and design tasks to support AdvanSix capital projects. The individual will be responsible for communicating and coordinating with cross functional teams consisting of multidiscipline engineers/designers, process engineers, operations, maintenance, and project management to meet the requirements of the capital project and business needs.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
The individual must personally set a good example with all rules and regulations to achieve 100% universal compliance with HS&E (Health, Safety & Environmental) procedures/regulations.
Perform electrical and instrument engineering functions in a capital engineering organization.
E/I engineering project/design deliverables and responsibilities include:
End-to-end development of material take offs (MTO) for each phase of a capital project including front end loading (FEL) and detailed design.
Supporting development of project P&IDs
Heat Trace Design
Participating in 30/60/90 percent design/model reviews
Developing data sheets for instrumentation and electrical equipment
Instrumentation: Flow, Pressure, Level, and Temperature
Electrical Equipment: 4160v, 480v, 208v, 120v, & 24v systems
Supporting designers in development and review of detailed construction drawings
Developing construction/maintenance scopes of work
Project instrument index
Specify and support procurement of all electrical and instrumentation related equipment and devices.
Coordinate project needs with a multidiscipline project team, maintenance, process, and operations.
Coordinate vendor support.
Support project start-up and commissioning.
Performing field surveys
Possess working knowledge of P&IDs and control logic.
Experience with DCS and PLC systems. (programming not required)
Review process and reliability scopes to support capital project execution.
Support team in reviewing and updating of plant and corporate electrical and instrumentation standards.
Design electrical equipment, controls, and instruments per OEM specifications.
Review project proposals, owner/contractor specifications, and any other requirements for projects.
Adopt and leverage AdvanSix Engineering Standards. Maintain or support any site-specific requirements or standards if deemed necessary.
Work with the site personnel to understand the key issues and identify ways to improve the operation by using good engineering judgment and solutions.
Ensure construction scope of works and practices follow federal, state, local and plant codes/policies as required.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, instrument engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and eagerness to learn/develop.
Working knowledge of Bluebeam, CAD software, either AutoCAD, Micro Station, or both.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
5-10 years of experience.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
Industrial experience in a chemical, industrial, paper or manufacturing facility with exposure to construction practices.
Hands-on experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment in industrial facility
