Description

Sequitur Health Corp. is a startup spun out of the Mayo Clinic and Arizona State University (ASU). The employee will be expected to maintain visitor appointments at both Mayo Clinic and ASU and will work closely with doctors from the Mayo Clinic Arizona and engineers, chemists, material scientists from ASU. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated leader who will be a key contributor to a dynamic multi-disciplinary team that is undertaking investigations on development, testing, and translation of new proprietary medical biosensing devices from the laboratory to the clinic. The employee will be responsible for scale up of sensor production and overseeing production quality. The employee will be expected to interface with subcontract collaborators at Mayo Clinic (Dr. Leslie Thomas) and Arizona State University (Dr. Erica Forzani) to oversee clinical studies to validate the scaled up sensor performance.

Desired Knowledge:

Experience with mass transport, liquid deposition, clinical studies, analytical chemistry, clinical chemistry, or a related field. It is expected that the candidate will have a strong experimental background in wet-laboratory chemistry, liquid deposition, biosensors, analytical techniques such as (96 well spectrophotometry, enzymatic methods), sampling and storage of biological samples. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from a variety of different professional backgrounds.



Requirements

A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline with 1-2 years of experience. The candidate must be currently employable in the United States as this position is initially federal grant funded. The candidate will be required to pass a background check and must not be excluded from participation in federal programs.
