SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer-Truck Sales position is responsible for ensuring the companies sales and design software is up-to-date relative to product offerings and engineering constraints for Spartan's emergency response product line to ensure customer requirements are met.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proactively and continuously gain enhanced product knowledge about chassis systems and components through discussion, research, and training with other internal associates
Effectively process quote/order feasibility for design and function
Collaborate with engineering and sales to understand product offerings and engineering constraints and apply them within the sales tool
Coordinate product design information with cross-function teams (purchasing, scheduling, production, customer service, etcetera) to ensure customer requirements are met, including support of customer / project teams
Troubleshoot configuration rules (option compatibility) issues and implement corrective action(s)
Understand engineering design charts data and extract bills of material data
Support the creation and development of process flows for the management of data within the product configuration development tool
Create feasibility design layouts
Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates Degree in Business, Technology, or Engineering or equivalent experience required
2-5 years of relevant experience
Advanced-level computer skills are required
Intermediate-level user in computer aided design (CAD), preferably Solid Works
Basic knowledge of computer programming and the willingness to learn more
Intermediate-level user in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Previous Technical Writing Experience is preferred
