The Geel site is the largest chemical production site for small molecule API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) within the Janssen supply chain. We ensure lifesaving medicines reach the patient, safely, optimality, competitively, always. Beside production of API's, the site has a launch & grow mission for new pharmaceutical products. To accomplice this mission we keep investing in new technologies, people and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Engineer your main goal is supporting the manufacturing process with regards to efficiency, productivity and reliability of our equipment and systems. You will work closely together with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance departments. The Maintenance Engineer is reporting to the Maintenance Manager of the BU and is part of the BU maintenance team

• Technical day-to-day support and follow-up on critical maintenance activities
• Lead and facilitate root cause analysis related to technical problems in close collaboration with technicians and other departments
• Active involvement in quality and safety investigations
• Continuously seeking for improvement opportunities related towards maintenance plans (Reducing non added value tasks, optimizing instructions, introducing new techniques...)
• Follow-up on plant Change Controls and active involvement in projects
• Promoting and supporting improvement ideas for processes within maintenance.

Qualifications

• A technical degree or equal to experience and a strong interest in all aspects of maintenance & reliability. Preferred fields of study are Engineering or Science, although the job description is open to any motivated professional.
• Through communicative and interpersonal skills manage to work together as a team player, contributing to an energetic work environment in various levels of the organisation.
• An innovative drive to make the difference and achieve results. Combination of analytical and technical skills to understand and solve complex issues as well as derive related business needs.
• Decisiveness, brainpower and drive to deal with various issues and projects simultaneously.
• Experience in application of different maintenance strategies.
• Able to collaborate with others using both Dutch and English.
