The Capital Project Engineer will plan, support, and execute capital project engineering deliverables at our Blair, NE bio-refinery campus. Cargill's largest site in our corn milling and texturizing solutions business, the Blair campus includes nine different departments from corn milling to ethanol, corn oil and three fermentation departments. This role will oversee construction management, considering safety, schedule, efficiency, cost management and documentation. This professional will develop and apply engineering standards, project management procedures, and provide advice on issues within the engineering field.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead or participate in the development of capital project scope, schedule, and budget while following project management deliverables and best practices.
- Help coordinates staffing and development of construction, commissioning and start-up plans and assists operations in troubleshooting and optimization activities.
- Help lead equipment specification and procurement and develop, review and award bid packages for equipment and labor.
- Help analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems, or the causes of component failures.
- Design and improve manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, and testing manufactured products to maintain quality.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading capital projects
- Four years of related engineering experience
- Mechanical, Chemical or Ag/Biosystems Engineering degree
- Ability and desire to work hands on in fast paced and technical plant environment
