Job Summary:
Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure the facility is in compliance with regulations. Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
Key Responsibilities:
- Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
- Performs experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
- May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water.
- Identifies, assesses and resolves problems concerning the environment.
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Education/Experience:
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- 2-4 years' of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
Qualifications:
- Environmental compliance. Safety best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety training. Safety policies and procedures. Inspection documentation.
Other Requirements:
- Travel: No or very little travel likely
- Work Environment: Office work environment, with regular movement throughout the facility.
- Background Investigation and Drug Screen: Required
