Department: Environmental Health & Safety
Job Summary: The EHS Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Provide EHS training and education to employees.
- Maintain EHS documentation and records.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safe working environment.
- Oversee hazardous waste management and emergency response plans.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics.
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and tools.
- Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
