Position Overview:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced Project Managers on mechanical construction projects in an industrial setting. Interns will gain hands-on experience at job sites, learning the fundamentals of project engineering through real-world applications. The role is designed to prepare interns for future full-time roles as Project Engineers by developing skills in communication, scheduling, document control, and field coordination.

What You'll Do:

1. Job Site Exposure: Spend significant time on active job sites, observing and assisting with daily operations, safety protocols, and project coordination.
2. Project Support: Assist Project Managers with tracking project progress, managing documentation, and coordinating with field teams.
3. Material & Equipment Coordination: Help monitor deliveries and inventory of major equipment and materials.
4. Document Management: Learn to maintain project documentation in compliance with company standards and contract requirements.
5. Technical Review: Support the review of drawings, specifications, and RFIs under the guidance of the project team.
6. Scheduling Assistance: Collaborate with field supervisors to help organize and update project schedules.
7. Safety Participation: Attend safety meetings and support the implementation of safety procedures on-site.

Learning Opportunities:

1. Gain exposure to estimating, writing submittals, RFI's, change order processes, and subcontractor coordination.
2. Learn how to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and field personnel.
3. Understand the basics of mechanical systems and construction workflows.
4. Participate in internal project planning and review meetings.

Required Skills and Abilities:

1. Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
2. Strong interest in industrial construction and project management.
3. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
4. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and willingness to learn construction software tools.
