As an intern, you will gain broad exposure to varied areas in Environmental, Health & Safety related fields. Intern responsibilities will be flexible, with a primary focus on environmental and sustainability initiatives, and additional opportunities to support health and safety efforts/projects. Experienced managers mentor Intern contributions and development during their assignments. You build leadership and functional skills through structured hands-on and classroom training that complements challenging work experience.

A pioneer in the production and assembly of complex aerostructures including aircraft and rocket components, engine nacelle systems, thrust reversers and advanced composite products, we apply the latest digital technologies and automation in composite design and manufacturing that are second to none. At ST Engineering MRAS, we are also rapidly augmenting our maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities leveraging the company's expanded aircraft nacelle portfolio as well as it's materials and processing expertise.
What YOU will do
- Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions tracking and reporting
• Water and waste reporting and data management
• Additionally, a portion of our work supports Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, providing an opportunity for interns with an interest in CSR to gain meaningful exposure in this area. - Evaluate and score suppliers based on sustainability and environmental criteria.
- Perform hands-on facility projects such as installing water or gas meters and supporting new recycling programs.
- Offer administrative support and assist in environmental record keeping (GHG, water, waste, energy etc.).
- Work on projects often requiring independent decision-making.
- Develops PowerPoint presentations, graphics, and safety trainings.
- May be asked to analyze data with excel or various other analysis tools.
- Participate in hands-on compliance and auditing tasks, such as performing safety walkthroughs and reviewing permits.
- May be asked to take on certain aspects of a full-time job within the function the intern is studying.
- May be asked to participate in early talent events, seminars or training.
- Perform assignments where trust and accuracy are required.
What YOU must bring to Succeed
- Current enrollment in a degree program that will lead to a bachelor's or technical degree with minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Completed one full year of college (rising Sophomore)
- Dependable transportation to / from work
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Effective time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen OR Green card holder
Desired Characteristics
- At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelors/technical (or equivalent) degree in Environmental Science/ Sustainability
- Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines.
- Previous experience using independent thought processes to plan ahead, process information, maintain workflow and anticipate future needs of the team.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse team across different time zones.
- Demonstrated interest in environmental and sustainability related activities.
- Experience with Autodesk or other CAD mapping tools is a plus.
- Support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Estimate salary range for this role: $21.00 to $30.00 per hour. ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, based on the graduation year and major.
