Description

The Village of Mokena, Illinois, is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Project Engineer. The individual selected for this position will assist in providing in-house engineering services to the community’s residents and developers and play an important role in delivering quality municipal infrastructure improvements.

This position will support all aspects of traditional municipal engineering, including plan review, inspection, and coordination of public works construction and maintenance projects. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of project specifications and bidding documents, reviewing grading permits, coordinating with consultants, monitoring letters of credit and other development securities, and supporting the development of the Village’s Capital Improvement Program.

The position requires strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, CAD, and GIS systems is required.

Candidates must possess an Associate’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, and two to five years of experience in capital project management, inspection, or construction within a government agency or consulting firm. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education. A valid Illinois driver’s license is required; P.E. license preferred.

Salary Range: $79,501 to $105,969 (based on qualifications and experience)
