Position Overview:
We're seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll lead the design and delivery of impactful water and wastewater treatment projects, helping to create sustainable solutions that enhance everyday life. Key Responsibilities and Skills:
- Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring technical excellence, quality, and on-time completion.
- Support business development through proposal input, client meetings, and solution-focused presentations.
- Partner with clients to understand their needs, present innovative technical solutions, and build lasting relationships.
- Perform process modeling, hydraulic analyses, and develop design documentation, including PFDs and P&IDs.
- Specify and design treatment systems such as activated sludge, BNR, MBR, filtration, and disinfection technologies.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering growth and innovation.
- Participate in site visits during design, construction, and start-up to support performance optimization and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited); a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required; BCEE certification preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering, ideally within a consulting or design environment.
- Strong background in treatment process design and optimization for municipal or industrial facilities.
- Proficiency with process modeling and design software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X, WaterCAD, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Solid understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, and overall system design principles.
- Experience with a range of treatment technologies, including activated sludge, BNR, MBR, filtration, disinfection, RO, and biosolids systems.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide teams, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to water and wastewater systems.
- Self-driven and detail-oriented, with a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Active involvement in professional organizations such as AWWA or WEF is a plus.
