Below, we’ve detailed the core engineering profiles and attributes/experience we seek on a continuing basis:
Process Engineer
- Identify & analyze production problems using Six Sigma methodologies to control & improve manufacturing processes.
- Loss reduction & continuous improvement in coating line productivity & product quality through the use of problem solving, Six Sigma & project management skills.
- Provide ongoing process evaluation—including trials & capability studies.
- Participation/leadership in Enterprise Lean Sigma and kaizen activities.
- All aspects of Standard Operating Condition program management: Point of control for all changes & updates. Provide teams with scheduled product SOC's. Review completed SOC's daily and maintain database/record retention.
- Lead or participate on process improvement Teams, identifying and escalating areas of opportunity. (Losses, machine or process efficiencies, etc).
- Coordinate R&D trial pre-run meetings. Challenge appropriately to ensure the best interest of Customers, Division and Site are met and that the documentation, approval, and support plan are in place. Monitor &/or review trial results and communicate any concerns to Manufacturing Manager or Trial Leader.
- Lead process engineering support of the scale-up of new product(s) and in the improvement of existing product(s).
- Develop process/technical knowledge in extrusion, corona treatment, slitting, winding, orientation, etc.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 to 5 Years manufacturing experience.
- Experience with statistical analysis, statistical process controls, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and MSE.
- Ability to develop, implement, monitor, measure, and control functional improvement plans.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related) required.
- 1 to 3 years Slitting/Coating experience preferred
- Mechanical or electrical experience; ability to relate process needs to machine capability.
- Must be flexible in work hours in order to support the 24-hour manufacturing operation.
Preferred
- Previous ISO 9001-2000 experience with implementation, improvement, and sustainment.
- Previous Six Sigma exposure/experience. Green Belt / Black Belt certification a plus.
- Controls, instrumentation, PLC knowledge.
- Previous experience with PSA / web based processes preferred.
Quality Engineer
- Coordination of quality activities to reduce the overall cost of quality (Rework, Returns and Scrapped Product).
- Quality Systems complaint trend analysis, deficiency identification, control system development/implementation/audits, and corrective action for continual system improvements and control plans. (i.e. FMEA analysis, APQP activities, TS 16949 procedures, trend graphing)
- Coordination of the on-time completion of all PPAP requests to meet customer submission requirements.
- Willingness to become a Six Sigma Certified Greenbelt.
Minimum Requirements
- BS degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
- Preferred: ASQ CQE certification
Experience Required
- TS 16949 and ISO/QS9000 experience
- 3 – 5 years in a quality engineering role.
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and Capability Studies knowledge
Preferred
- Expericence in a printing and converting manufacturing environment.
Application Development Engineer
- Capture Voice of Customer – assist sales in identifying new application opportunities.
- Determine product solutions for applications to include managing new suppliers and identifying new materials.
- Work directly with external customer engineering resources to develop new product concepts.
- Accountable for specifying voice of customer to process engineering and manufacturing for trial orders.
Minimum Requirements
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- Fundamental knowledge of pressure sensitive materials and converting operations. 2-5 years of relevant technical, sales or engineering experience in related industry (Packaging/Converting).
- Prior experience working directly with end-use customer engineering resources in commercializing new applications.
- Strong project management skills required, including understanding and experience utilizing Six Sigma methodology to manage projects.
Maintenance and Engineering Manager
- Provide technical support to the production staff, and lead the maintenance activities in the plant.
- Responsible for overseeing the development, justification, implementation of capital projects.
- Ideal for an experienced Plant Engineering Manager who is seeking a leadership in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Provide design, analysis and support to operations
- Perform equipment selection, justification and implementation
- Work on new construction and remodeling activities as needed
Minimum Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- 7+ years experience in plant engineering or project engineering in a production environment.
- Experience in the chemical industry or a chemical-related industry a must
- Experience in Project Management and maintenance of batch chemical production.
- Knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
- Knowledge and experience with root cause analysis.
- Experience with maintenance of production equipment and processes, as well as utilities and facilities support.
- Knowledge of PSM
Process Engineer- Chemicals
- Experience in supporting manufacturing operations with technical and engineering support in a chemical plant,
- Implement new process improvement ideas to assure the plant meets key plant goals and objectives.
- Participate in technical and engineering initiatives for the commercialization of new products.
- Assist operations by monitoring daily plant operating conditions, process controls and laboratory analysis as required to optimize productivity and processes. Participate in the plant quality process by helping to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Do detailed process material and energy balances on unit operations as required. Collect and evaluate process data for special plant studies and test projects
- Assure that appropriate MOCs have been initiated and completed for process changes.
- Participate in unit HAZOPS and/or PHA. Assist operations in the development of unit operating procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- BS/MS in Chemical Engineering along with 5-7 years industrial experience in Specialty Chemicals, Emulsion polymers or related industries and related functions outlined in job description
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and six sigma is a plus
- Ability to use proficiently various software applications essential to technical performance • Prior experience with batch chemical processing and post addition.
Project Engineer
Job Description
- Provide project leadership, management and oversight of Capital projects, Facility projects and Process Improvements.
- Budget vs. Actual cost control and reporting.
- Facilitate and manage project teams from project initiation through commissioning
- Manage Engineering Contract firms for larger projects
- Create/refine cost models for developing capital projects
- Define and manage change control process and quality assurance aspects of the project
- Develop and manage project plan, including work break down structure, activity sequencing, resource plan, and procurement plan and code compliances.
- Lead Functional or Matrix project management processes.
- Develop qualitative and quantitative risk management plan, analysis and mitigation process.
- Training Maintenance, Operations and EHS on new equipment SOPs
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum demonstrated experience 5 years in Project Management.
- BS in engineering.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Financial acumen.
- Strong expertise in automated system integration including process controls, variable frequency drives or PLC knowledge and ability to troubleshoot
- Knowledge of 2D AND 3D computer aided design.
- Chemical Industry EHS knowledge
Controls Engineer
- Safety: Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvements and other EHS responsibilities
- Project Engineering: Controls hardware and software design, installation and commissioning
- Project Management: Capital investment preparation, justification, fiscal management and contractor management
- Maintenance Support: Provide front-line support to the maintenance team
- Process Improvements: Initiate, implement & support new equipment and process designs to promote safety, improve quality, minimize scrap and increase productivity
- Lean/Six Sigma: Utilize lean principles and six sigma methodology as part of daily work practices
- Provide training to operators, maintenance, and other engineering personnel to support safety and technical skill development
Minimum Requirements
- B.S. Engineering (BSEE or MSEE preferred) and 3-5 years industrial experience.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC’s, AC/DC drives, motors, basic circuitry, and instrumentation.
- Prior experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and WonderWare software and hardware.
- Demonstrated project management skills including management of change and capital project management.
- Experience with electrical power distribution.
- Well versed in OSHA/NEC/NFPA regulatory requirements.
- Ability to develop, implement, monitor, measure, and control functional improvement plans.
- Previous experience with PSA / web based processes preferred.
