Company History
Aspen Aerogels, Inc. is a rapidly growing company founded in 2001 to capitalize on proprietary and patented advances in aerogel technology. Aspen has developed a proprietary, easy-to-use blanket form of aerogels with broad application to a variety of markets including Oil & Gas, Building & Construction, Outdoor Gear & Apparel, Solar Thermal, Appliances and Transportation. The company is headquartered in Northborough, Mass., and has 120 employees.
Aspen Aerogels® (www.aerogel.com) supplies reinforced, flexible aerogel insulation products that provide up to five times better thermal performance than other widely used insulation materials. Aspen's insulation solutions deliver thermal and other benefits that enable customers to conserve energy and save money in many industries including oil and gas production and processing, LNG shipping and storage, building and construction, outdoor apparel, appliances, transportation, and military and aerospace. Headquartered in Northborough, Mass., Aspen Aerogels® manufactures its three lines of products (Cryogel®, Pyrogel® and Spaceloft®) at its high-capacity plant in East Providence, R.I.
