AcuTech Consulting Group is a highly successful and rapidly growing process safety and security risk management company, with offices in Alexandria, VA (headquarters), Houston, Princeton, and Oakland. As a global company providing consulting, training and technologies to the public and private sectors, our mission is to identify, evaluate and manage risks in order to continually improve safety, security, health, environmental, and operational performance. AcuTech is presently engaged in major safety, risk, and homeland security projects in the following industries: oil and gas production & transportation (marine, offshore, onshore, pipeline, terminals), LNG, petroleum refining, petrochemicals, and other process industries, as well as various security projects with the U.S. Government.

Company History

AcuTech was founded by David A. Moore, P.E., CSP, in 2001 to provide high quality consulting and training services to the process industry. Mr. Moore is a leading expert on chemical security management and vulnerability assessment. He was the project manager for the AIChE CCPS®: Guidelines for Managing and Analyzing the Security Vulnerabilities of Fixed Chemical Sites”, the security guidelines for the American Petroleum Institute (API), and the API/National Petrochemical and Refiners Association Security Vulnerability Assessment Methodology. He is the lead author of the 2008 edition of the AIChE CCPS® “Inherently Safer Chemical Processes: A Lifecycle Approach”. He holds an MBA from New York University, and a B.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Maryland.

AcuTech Consulting Group is the author of numerous guidelines including Inherently Safer Technology. Contracted by CCPS to lead the development of the CCPS Guidelines book, “Inherently Safer Design: A Life Cycle Approach, 2nd Edition”.
