Carbon Recycling International is the globally-recognised leader in CO2 to methanol technology, operating at industrial scale since 2012. We enable our partners to produce renewable methanol from carbon dioxide and hydrogen, for more sustainable fuels, chemicals and products.

We work with industry around the world to develop transformative projects creating valuable products from waste gases and renewable energy. The latest plant based on our ETL technology is the largest of its type in the world and can recycle around 160,000 tonnes per year of carbon dioxide into methanol.

Company History

arbon Recycling International (CRI) was founded in Iceland in 2006 around the idea of recycling carbon dioxide emissions by utilizing it to make useful products. Out of our main office in Reykjavik, we work towards developing and marketing our ETL process technology for producing methanol from carbon dioxide emissions.

Guided by values of leadership, sustainability, cooperation, innovation and development, we facilitate a transition to a more circular economy through our innovative approach to carbon capture and utilisation across the world.
