GaiaTech offers a comprehensive range of environmental services, including site assessments, investigations, and remediation services. GaiaTech specializes in providing environmental due diligence, risk consulting, and related services to clients engaged in mergers and acquisitions – including strategic and financial buyers and sellers, industrial clients, and owners and operators of commercial facilities.
GaiaTech focuses on developing cost-effective, practical solutions to environmental issues identified during due diligence or that have been flagged for further investigation by our client. We help companies and owners manage their assets for their entire investment life-cycle, from industrial manufacturing plants to commercial property, from real estate portfolios to retail operations. Since 1993, GaiaTech has completed projects on asset-based transactions with a combined value of more than $250 billion.
Company History
GaiaTech was established in Chicago in 1993 by a small group of engineers and scientists who had previously worked together at a large environmental engineering company. That same core group of professionals remains with the firm, even while we have grown to have over 100 professionals in eight offices across the U.S. and in Europe.
GaiaTech's founders recognized that owners of or investors in industrial properties needed an approach different than that of the traditional environmental consulting firm. Instead of needing a consultant that would simply identify problems and propose solutions, owners and investors needed smart, focused business-oriented reports on the likely impact of such liabilities on the corporate bottom-line. They needed plans to address such concerns within the budgetary and operating needs of the business.
Moreover, for deal participants with concerns about environmental liabilities, it did not meet the needs of any party to provide deep technical reports describing environmental problems in ways that might unnecessarily – even wrongly – discourage closing. Explanation was needed for what those reports meant, in practical and financial terms that deal participants could use.
GaiaTech understands the needs of owners and investors. We realize that whenever a company buys or sells assets, environmental and associated engineering problems translate into financial liabilities. Our environmental and engineering services are tailored specifically to the needs of parties involved in mergers and acquisitions, and in property portfolio management.

SUMMARY OF BENEFITS FOR GaiaTech, INC.
Major Medical coverage is through Blue Cross Blue Shield. We offer an HSA and a PPO plan. The PPO is a 90/70 plan with a $1500 deductible, with the Company self funding the last $500. The Company pays for 75% of the cost for the employee only and 50% of the additional coverage for employee +1, employee and child and family coverage. You are immediately eligible for this benefit.
Dental coverage is through Assurant and is a PPO program as well. For the dental plan you are 100% covered for reasonable and customary charges with regards to your twice a year cleanings. Then there is a sliding scale for covered services depending upon whether or not your dentist is in the network. The Company pays for 75% of the cost for the employee only and 50% of the additional coverage. You are immediately eligible for this benefit, however there is a twelve month waiting period on major dental work.
We also carry life insurance at one times salary and offer you the opportunity to purchase additional life insurance (that is portable) at a group rate. You do have the option of purchase additional life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
401 (k) ING currently administers our 401(k) plan. We do have a discretionary match that is 50% up to 6% of your salary. The match is made/not made based upon financial goals. You are eligible to begin the 401(k) on the first of the month following 90 days of service.
We also carry Long Term Disability Insurance. You are eligible for LTD insurance on the first of the month following 90 days of service. The LTD has an elimination period of 91 days before it begins.
Paid Time Off (PTO) policy. We are paid bi-weekly and with each paycheck you accrue PTO. There are three rates at which you accrue PTO. 5.23 hours per pay period for a total of 17 days, 6.77 hours per pay period for a total of 22 days and 8.30 hours per pay period for a total of 27 days.
Bonus Program.
GaiaTech has established a consolidated bonus program that will be paid semi-annually. A total bonus target will be determined for each employee as a defined percentage of base salary based on level. Elements of the bonus criteria will be individually established for each employee by their Direct Supervisor. All staff are eligible for bonus considerations provided the following criteria are met:
- Individual is a full time employee with a minimum of 3 months of the bonus review period,
- Individual job performance criteria have been exceeded,
- Employee is in good standing at time bonuses are paid,
- Employee’s respective department meets stated financial and performance goals, and
- GaiaTech meets stated financial and performance goals.
