Company Overview
Oberon Fuels is bringing DME (dimethyl ether) to North America as a clean, inexpensive, alternative to diesel for the heavy-duty truck and agricultural markets. Using various feedstocks such as biogas and natural gas, Oberon has developed a skid-mounted, modular process to convert methane and carbon dioxide to DME. Oberon is building its first DME facilities in the Imperial Valley region (Brawley, CA), which will begin producing fuel in April 2013 and is the seed project for the launch of an entire new industry - DME as a commercial transportation fuel.
Company History
Oberon Fuels was founded in 2010 with the goal of commercializing small scale XTL technologies. As the company grew, the market opportunites and environmental benefits assciated with DME fuel use focused Oberon's technological efforts on small scale DME production plants utilizing methane based feedstocks (bio-gas, pipeline natural gas, etc.). Oberon is currently constructing its first DME facility in Brawley, CA and has plans to install additional plants in various locations throughout North America.
